A Dallas family has had their Christmas ruined after burglars stole their beloved dogs and dozens of wrapped festive presents.
The heartless thieves took Christmas gifts, electronic items and jewellery from the Rusaw family's apartment in Tri Pointe Square, Mesquite, at the weekend.
But the Rusaws' greatest concern is for their teacup Yorkshire terrier Candy, who was also taken in the robbery.
'I'm not worried about any gifts,'said Cameron Rusaw, 13, who faces a meagre Christmas after the majority of his presents were stolen. 'I just want my dog back.'
Cameron's mother Stacy said she is struggling to cope with the loss of her dog.
'Without us, we know she's scared,' she told the NBC-owned DFW station. 'She's a sweet little dog, and even if you are enjoying her, bring her back to us where she belongs, because it's not fair. She didn't do nothing.'
The Rusaws believe the robbers broke in through a window at their apartment, after finding glass window screens on the ground outside the property
As well as the theft of two-year-old Candy, the burglars stole small electronic items, DVDs and a coin collection that Cameron had inherited from his grandfather.
Police in Mesquite are investigating the break-in and the Rusaw family are appealing from help from anyone who has seen Candy or has any information
