I think taking a DT 2nd overall is crazy. Think of the money you're going to have to pay him. You'd get more impact out of a top flight LT and a 2nd round DT.

I fully agree, that's why my vote goes for Okung.

I agree, but the question was who will they take. I said Okung too, btw....but Suh has a good lead right now.

Both Suh and McCoy grade out higher than Okung and clearly fill a need Det.

I'd take Okung (as I think Backus is sub-standard at LT) but I think they'll take Suh.

Oh, I'm sure Suh will win and the Lions will probably draft him, just wanted to make my argument.

Suh

Remember Jim Swartz built that Tennessee around Albert Haynesworth. And while they're far different in size, Suh has a much higher motor.

Suh.

Some people are saying it may be a LT.

When you are a defensive minded coach like Schwartz you don't pass on a player who could be one of the greats.

I like McCoy too. But when you saw Suh show up at the combine like a man on a mission it was obvious he was a notch above McCoy.

Suh is the pick and he's the starter from day one.

I agree, we need to remember who is in charge in Detroit now. He comes from Tennessee where the teams is build around defense.

Suh is the choice hands down....

I'd take Okung but they will likely take Suh. And Suh is better than McCoy by far.

Trade the pick to the Cowboys for the 27th pick, Cory Procter, and one I HATE MATT MILLEN coffee mug. Cowboys take Eric Berry.

No?

Okay, Ndamukong Suh.

I can tell that many have not had the pleasure, and I do mean pleasure, of watching Mister Suh play.

CowboyZone Mock Draft

(poll style)

Everyone is welcome to vote once.

Vote how you think the team WILL draft (not how they should draft)

I'll provide at least 8 choices for each team (sorry if I don't include your favorite and some may seem a bit off-the-wall) Trade downs will have to be a certain team so we can adjust who's picking in what spot.

I'll leave the option out there for at least 4 hours unless it is so unaminous that I can go on to the next team. When we move on, I'll make a post saying the end of counting for that team and what the verdict is.

Results so far:

  1. St Louis, SAM BRADFORD
    [*]
    ???
ON THE CLOCK:

DETROIT

What will the Lions do with Pick #2?

  • Gerald McCoy, DT, Oklahoma
  • Nadamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
  • Russell Okung, OT, Ok St
  • Eric Berry, S, Tennessee
  • Bryan Bulaga, OT, Iowa
  • Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma
  • trade down to # 13 SF
  • trade down to # 9 Buffalo
  • trad down to # 7 Cleveland

the poll is not showing up for me to vote

Ok folks, the verdict is in..

with the 2nd pick in the 2010 NFL Draft,
the Detroit Lions select

NDAMUKONG SUH

next up is Tampa Bay.

I'll put them on the clock in a few minutes. Also, feel free to email me suggestions for possible picks for teams down the line some...as we get further down, things will get less obvious.

I think Okung would be a very good pick for TB
