Cowboys aren't a normal NFL situation; priorities out of whack

We continue attempting to analyze our franchise in its current state of the union like the rest of the league. But our priorities are out of whack under our current owners agendas.

These are honorable attempts to evaluate our football team but when your top priority isn’t winning championships then it’s very difficult to hold them to the same bar and use normal thoughts in overall football analysis.

Sure Jethro wants to win but not enough to get out of the way. So everything else becomes secondary to remaining the face of the franchise fulfilling his dream of being a celebrity football guy.

Unfortunately this is probably about as good as it gets this era under current owner and GM. Our bar has been lowered as a result when you’re All In on relevance and interest in order to provide a product to hype and promote in order to minimize Damage Control instead of building championship rosters.

I equate Jethro wanting to win to a guy on the side of the road who doesn't know how to change his flat tire but refuses the help of someone who does and continues to just fail at it. Of course this guy "wants" to fix his tire but his ego won't allow him to let someone else who is capable of doing it get the job done

Jerry considers the Dallas Cowboys a marketing company. He uses their popularity to make more billions for the Joneses. Anybody think Jerry cares about winning anymore will be sadly proven wrong. All about the Benjamins now.....The Dallas Cowboys and their fans are the goose that keeps the jesters' pockets full...

I know a lot of people say that but I disagree (IMO)

I think he wants to win as much as anyone else.. but only if it makes him look good.

He knows most people give Jimmy the credit for those SBs.. He won't hire BB because if they did win one.. everyone would credit BB.

I believe he wants to win a SB but only if he gets the credit and looks like the brains in the operation.

It was his brain that hired Jimmy.

He was so smart that he chased Jimmy out of town after 2 SB wins, 30 years ago. Brilliance!

JDS is believing an 80 year old fool is going to return the Cowboys to glory. Have fun with that.
Jimmy wanted to leave.

It’s amazing how Homers will defend Jethro . I guess out of some kind of loyalty cause he’s our owner.

But for some reason they don’t feel defending Jimmy is being loyal to the Cowboys.

I’ve known and or came in contact with thousands of Cowboy fans in my lifetime and yet to know one personally who defended our owner over Jimmy?

Only on these forums have I ever had to hear from anyone who took Jethro’s side over Jimmy. Lol

I agree. I feel he wants to win desperately but he’s more desperate to get all the attention and credit for it. Credit is a bigger priority than winning. So when his way doesn’t work, and it hasn’t for 28 years, he uses attention/marketing as a consolation prize. If only he would realize his meddling/nepotism is the Achilles heel of the franchise.

Since he won’t change his nepotism ways he turns us into the Dallas Kardashians to keep people talking about us. Then the players feed into the drama and add to the reality show effect. It’s a vicious circle.

As wealthy as Jerry Jones is with his portfolio of successful businesses I'd like to think he would step back and just be an owner and hire great people to run his team. Go relax on his yacht traveling the globe hitting a few adult activities on the way but leave the Dallas Cowboys alone other than seeing his massive profits and be happy. We are mired in a cycle with Jerry to just stay good enough not to be annual losers and stay relevant. While the fanbase wants Super Bowl (s) We are no in sync here.

I think it’s time fans get in sync with Jethro. Cause this crap ain’t changing.

Beating our heads up against the wall certainly isn’t working. Screaming from the mountain top not working . Fans definitely aren’t walking away. Surely they don’t think he’s changing now.

Suk it up and take our beating from this SOB. Wave our white flags. He’s won . It’s over. It will go down better with some 25 year old whiskey. Lol
