Cowboys can clinch playoffs today

Dallas can clinch a postseason birth for the second consecutive season today for the first time since 2007.

The Jaguars, meanwhile, need a victory to keep pace with AFC South leading Titans . It’s a rarity for Jacksonville this late in this season. Last in the division the last four years and was in playoff contention just once previously since 2010.

But having won 3 of their last 5 games combined with Titans 3 game skid find themselves in the playoff picture at 5-8.

A loss by Cowboys who could be looking ahead to their matchup Christmas Eve with Egirls would place their playoff hopes on hold . And with a very tough 3 game stretch following with all potential playoff teams in Phil, Tenn and Wash , all of a sudden Cowboys playoff expectations could drastically change.

Dallas has played previously in Jacksonville just once in 2006, a 24-17 loss. The teams played in London in 2016, a home game for Jags. The other 5 meetings were in Dallas.

Came to post this. I’ve been messing with the playoff simulations and the only real way Dallas loses the 5, 6, or 7 seed is to lose all four and have Washington and Seattle win their final games.

yep we are locked into the five seed with any win between now and final week. We still have a shot at the 1 but it will require Philly to lose two and us to win out.

I don't understand the Detroit loss scenario. The best they can do is 10-7, the worse we can do is 10-7.
We have the head to head win tie breaker over Detroit. Unless it comes to some weird 3 way tie breaker.

Anyway, just win, earn the playoff spot today.

All this panic for a team that is 10-3. Only Cowboys Zone and the mediots. The Cowboys need to just get the offense to be consistent and stop turning the ball over.
