We rank high in some important categories like TO's, PPGA, and 3rd down conversion. Lets hope the offense doesnt make that irrelevant like last year against SF

I take the year rankings with a grain of salt. what's the defensive performance over the last 8 games, then the lat 4 games...that will show a trend in how the defense is performing.

amazing how cowboys manage to do that.
Last year with the 1st ranked offense, but that dwindled down towards playoffs and definitely showed, and same with the defense which was insanely dominant earlier this year, although injuries played their part.

Spot on!!!!!!! I just hope Hankins and LVE returning can help. Perhaps Rhodes can contribute and Mullen will play better.

All season I've been saying, today is the day for Diggs. Maybe he is saving it for the playoffs. Monday night going pick 6 on TB12 would be awesome.

Offense was terrible in the 2nd half of the year last season, outside of our last two games, we have been much better this year. Biggest worry is lack of ground attack and Dak's interceptions.

Defense wins championships. And as bad as LVE has been in the past he’s played really well this season. I see a correlation when he went out that the D struggled overall more. It will be a big boost having him back.

If we go anywhere in these playoffs this D has to be the reason.

For all the hype about Dak and his defining moment we will only go as far as this defense takes us. It's the same situation as it's been since Romo. All of the teams are good in the playoffs and each unit has to perform but defense is in the forefront. Early on they looked like a championship unit now, not so much.

In my eyes the play of #96, #97, #98, #72 will determine our fate. Whoever we play I'm sure their defense will not make it easy for our offense. We need our defense to reciprocate. Will ours show up?

Forget these rankings. Look at trends. The Cowboys defense has not been the same the last 4 or 5 games. Maybe getting Hankins and LVE back will help. Maybe Rhodes found the fountain of youth in Texas. But they must play better all around than they have the last month and a half. It has to start with the relentless pressure on the QB.

Direct coloration to when the defensive struggles began and our injuries started. Losing Brown and Lewis have hurt us badly. It's tough to win when you can't get off the field on 3rd downs. It says we finished 8th in that stat but I bet $ that ranking and maybe all of them, has fallen steadily since we lost those 2 guys.
