I live in the 2nd biggest city in Michigan (Grand Rapids) and there are plenty of Cowboys Fans here too. I started watching Dallas in 1978 and never looked back. Michiganders ask me how and why I'm a Dallas fan and I tell them the truth: my Grandpa was from Brownsville, TX and the Cowboys were his 2nd favorite team, behind the Lions.(he moved to Michigan early in his life, so no big connection to Dallas) Of course, the Lions are putrid for the most part and it's been a fun ride. This team CAN win it all if the O can figure it out again.
