There was a thread a few weeks back about Cowboys local TV ratings being noticeably off. Not living locally, what have they done the past few weeks? One thing I've seen is that nationally, NFL ratings are doing well on the year and the last 3 weeks have been the best vs. last year. What's interesting is that in the past 3 weeks, two Cowboys games showed as down for their TV windows. Are the Cowboys just not as big a draw or is ratings parity happening, which is good for the NFL who wouldn't have to rely on Cowboys ratings gold as much. Does Jerry care? Not care?

One thing this shows is the challenge of MNF for ESPN. They have two problems. One, they cannot charge what the TV nets do per spot and they don't deliver the ratings points, which is how agencies price their spots. They have to run more spots and more of the same spots to achieve the goals for the agencies and if they don't deliver, they have to do make goods. I don't know about y'all but I am up to my eyebrows with those two fruit loops for Chevy and Verizon.

I think the ratings are very important to Booger because he's mad about the media. Ranking 1st in revenue and ratings are feathers in his cap. And since he is entertainment focused more than the actual game, falling ratings are a definite concern of his.

It will be interesting to see the ratings for this next game as this last game was the first exciting one, as determined by fans that want scoring, of the year. They might just have piqued some interest and it is the Skins and those games used to be ratings winners.
