He's going to get a $100m deal regardless of what he does next year. But he would be silly to sign because the Cowboys number is going to, probably 4x $25m (AJ Brown) as their max deal, and it won't kick in until 2025. By then, CD is losing probably close to $10m per year. Dallas has all of the leverage right now because they have team control for two more years AFTER this one with the tag. Of course they want to negotiate and extension now, but CD would be dumb to sign - he's going to get probably $30m over the next two years regardless.

A WR signing an extension after the third year when the 5th-year option is available is unprecedented. I think the only player to ever do that is Zeke, and it was a disaster.

CD is going to get something like 4x$32m with ~$80m guaranteed after next season. It will be ahead of Tyreek Hill but come in behind Jamarr Chase and Justin Jefferson.
