Typical Jerry move to over pay Dak by 20 mil for only 8 games, then balk at a $500k bonus for the backup who ended up with a better record.

Slim chance. He is at 52.4%. He needs 65 snaps to reach 55%. We currently average around 64 snaps a game.

So if Lance and Grier play there is no chance he hits it.

An extra $250K is great money. But if he misses it he should get a few million on the market next season to cover it.

I can't be sure but I think elevating him makes Grier either a restricted free agent or an exclusive rights free agent. So this looks like a move made so they can easily retain his rights and at least have a spare arm for the offseason program.
