Whether the solution becomes a reality with the possible addition of Wilkinson, or not, remains a pending puzzle yet to be undertaken. There's no doubt that something like a promising LG talent must be in the future for the needed change in the OL to be accomplished. Let's hope for that. Yet another opportunity might well exist in the early stages of the upcoming draft. These might well be likely solutions for the season ahead. ;)

Is it really likely that Chuma Edoga is a bonified candidate as to our solution at LG, or is he merely a prospective backup for that honor? I have doubt that he's destined to take over at LG, other than maybe providing the team a safety net for one who gets badly dinged or injured. Of course, that would seem to leave things wide open for a long-term solution to be forthcoming.

Probably more of a back up. Anyone that signs for that level of a contract you have to assume won't be starting. What you probably get with Edoga is a guy that can play a few different spots in a pinch

He's not the name guy. But he's a solid starter. I'd look at him like Kosier. Everybody laughed when they got him because they didn't know him. But he was solid for Detroit. Came to dallas and just got the job done.

Koiser also signed to br a starter. Edoga signed a one year deal at (or close to) the vet min.

It could always happen, but expecting him to be the starter is irrational

I'm not talking bout Edoga. I'm talking bout Wilkinson. He's the type of guy this team will go after. He's been a starter at G and T.

He is also a downgrade from McGovern. Both are close to the same in run blocking, but McGovern was significantly better as a pass blocker. He is the type of guy they go after. But he is also the type of guy fans want gone after they see him play in a Cowboys uniform

CowboyRoy calls him “Chung”, and basically guarantees failure if he plays.

Post some of the film you've been watching on him. I'd like to see some clips. Thanks in advance.

Go find some film if thats what your interested in, I dont need to show you any. You can go look for yourself and make your own determination.

He gave up as many sacks as McGovern in half the snaps. He graded out the close to the same as a run blocker. And when I watched Atlanta run to the left side, I didnt see anything to suggest he was any better. Plus there is also the fact that NFL teams are starting for lineman, and he is still available two weeks into FA, whereas McGovern got signed early.

He is decent backup option, but Im not going to fall into the trap some fall into of thinking some guy we signed two weeks into FA is going to be some upgrade over what we had

It’s always nice to see them continuing to look at options at left guard. But I still hope that they get a good one in the draft as well.
I like that this guy has position flex too.

I wonder if they wait until after the draft to pull the trigger on this guy? If they draft a IOL early, they probably skip signing him. If they draft a day 3 IOL that will need some development, then they sign him.

I think they’ll sign him post draft. If they draft somebody, he or Chuma is likely out. Which I’m sure their agents would frown against signing at the moment. Offensive line has plenty of overall depth

Tyler Smith, Tyron Smith, Terence Steele, Tyler Biadasz, Zack Martin, Matt Farniok, Matt Waletzko I would put all as 100% locks.

Then a few most likely guys in Josh Ball, Chuma Edoga who I’m pretty certain will make the 53. That gives you 1-2 spots for draft picks/UDFA/future free agents
