I understand it’s only October . But if we want to remain a contender avoiding losing 3 of 4 and an early season slump this game tonite becomes practically a must win .

That is what losing to AZ and then SF has presented . A much greater sense of urgency heading into the bye.

I had us at 4-2 heading into the bye and still feel it’s s very reachable goal to remain a serious playoff and divisional contender.

And I felt we needed to at least go 2-2 in this tough 4 game stretch. If we lose tonight then it could be close to a dumpster fire during bye .

Then we’ll practically need to beat LAR and Phil to gain a split in this stretch. Or we could fall below .500 after going to Phil.

And with the toughest stretch in Dec with Buff, Mia, Det and Phi if we already have 5 losses we’d probably be looking at a non playoff team.

That’s why this becomes such a must win more than it should have been.
Go Cowboys!!

Not a must-win, but it would create a need for some urgency and possibly changes if this team wants to reach the playoffs. I'm not sure which is better, to win and think we just had a couple of bad games or to lose and see that we have to do something more to have any hopes to getting past San Fran in the playoffs.

I always want me team to win, so I can't root for them to lose even if it might be better for them in the long run.

As bad as it would be to drop to 3-3, this is not a must-win game.

The Cowboys could lose tonight and still control their own destiny by winning out or at least tying the Eagles as long as they beat the Eagles both times they play them (unlikely, but possible).

It is an important game, but as a non-conference game it's not vital they win it.

Agreed. The worst part is losing two in a row and then heading into the bye

If Cowboy fans feel losing tonight doesn’t seriously impact the prospects for this season then I’d argue they refuse to feel the sense of urgency the reeling of losing 3 of 4 could impact going into the bye and prospects for a season with so much hope and hype.

And why the sense of urgency for this game creates a near must win scenario to avoid the need for either upcoming games as must win or a potential dumpster fire if the losing continues.

If you believe losing this hame doesn’t come with any long lasting effects I’d like to hear that argument and evidence supporting those thoughts.
