Good for him. I was surprised that the Cowbeoys didn't keep him on as some kind of assistant coach when he (finally) retired. I got the feeling that they didn't want him. Maybe it was a Garrett thing.
He certainly deserves a shot as an NFL assistant somewhere.

He said all along coaching HS was his dream. Also consider his sons are on that team.

I surmise more that Witten wanted to begin coaching at the youth level because he could make the most successful impact ASAP.
