4:36:06 pm Cowboys QB Tony Romo before practice Thursday: "Wade (Phillips) does a good job of working you throughout the bye week, more than people know. We work harder under Wade in the bye week than we did under Bill (Parcells)."

3:10:18 pm The Cowboys have begun their final practice for the week. Still not practicing: WR Roy Williams (ribs), RB Felix Jones (knee) and S Gerald Sensabaugh (thumb). Coach Wade Phillips hopes to get all three back for the Atlanta game.

1:48:06 pm For his career, QB Troy Aikman had 21 games where he averaged 10 yards or better per pass completion for a game. Since 2006, when Cowboys QB Tony Romo became the starter, he has had 11 games.

1:39:03 pm Cowboys coach Wade Phillips appears ready to replace WR Patrick Crayton with WR Miles Austin in the starting lineup. When approached by the media for a comment on the possible demotion, Crayton didn't want to talk about it.

1:33:49 pm "There are things that you (media) don't see that he is doing well. It's not all about catching the ball." - Cowboys QB Tony Romo on why WR Roy Williams numbers are down in 2009.

12:31:25 pm The Cowboys rank near the bottom in the NFL in turnover margin with -4. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cowboys are the only teams with a winning record in the bottom 10. The combined record for the bottom 10 is 13-35.

BS! What does Tony know? According to the geniuses at CZ all Wade does is contemplate his navel. :laugh2:

Some interesting stuff. Not a fan of Wade, but it seems the players are sort of responding to him, and they seem to care about him. Instead of defending him, they should go out and perform.

@Roy Williams comment...agreed. Still think the price was too high for him. But he does some things great. His downfield blocking is very good, and has definitely added some serious yards to some of our runs.

@Crayton..he shouldn't be too bummed. Miles earned the startings spot. Plus he operates best out of the slot any way.

No way this is accurate. He must've meant "per pass attempt."

I hope we get this turned around as the season progresses.

We've been in position a few times but just haven't been able to come up with the ball (i.e., Spencer vs. Denver in the red zone).

This was probably the most important thing we needed to correct from last season, and we haven't improved it yet. If we don't fix it, we don't go anywhere this year.

Attention Coach Phillips...........

So what happens first? Turn over margin gets turned around or they start losing games because of it.

I'm resigned to the notion that we will never get a lot of turnovers with the current coaching staff, especially Campo. The DB's can't get INTs to save their life, and I don't think it's a question of talent.

....They already have lost games because of it. Otherwise they'd be undefeated.

If that doesn't change by season end, even if Cowboys make playoffs, it will be one and done again. But with the remaining schedule, Cowboys won't make playoffs with that stat.

It's the most important stat for the Dallas Cowboys and really any team, but definitely the Dallas Cowboys. We aren't a team that is going to cause a huge amount of TO's, but we can directly effect how many we give away. We simply can't put the football on the ground as much as we have and expect to beat good teams.
