Jerry Jones saw what Howie Roseman did and quickly decided to cut some players off of the practice squad in order to give Cowboys fans false hope that he'll do something big by the trade deadline. Correct. But you will have to cut players to make room for them on the 53. Or you would have to have players on their 53 in the trade as well.

Yes, but you'd have to make roster space on the 53 by releasing a couple of players, who could be on your practice squad. However, in this case, I'm sure Dallas is just making space to add a couple of players to the PS.

Jefferson is out of practice squad call-ups, they used all three. He would have to be signed to the 53 to play again so that just leaves Evans.
