Cowboys Reveal 'Very Unpleasant' Conversations With Dak Prescott and Coach

I have been inquiring about the sources that Dallas fans follow that are meaningful and credible. More and more I can see that anything Fisher puts out is getting further away from these two requirements IMO.

This was terrible piece. Meaningless with no real indication on what the future will hold between these two. It felt more like Fisher is trying to keep himself in the conversation orbit as a source for Cowboys info.

Possible a fluff piece to keep himself in the relevance conversation???

Fisher is a "content creator" now. He will occasionally have something legit, but he has to put out daily content to pay the bills.

I did see the interview Dak gave, in which, this piece is written and lol this does seem to be fluff. I get it, they have to report content, but with Dak's season played out Shotty wasn't much of a positive effect.

So what I'm reading is that a conversation Dak had with Shotty last year in training camp helped set the standard. And Dak upheld that standard by having his worst season as a pro, right after getting paid, no less.

If last season is the standard this team is screwed for another 4 years.

The coach specifically noted a talk the two had last year during training camp in Oxnard when he took Dak to task after making a mistake.

Prescott's recollection of the visit?

"That was a conversation that was very unpleasant on the front end, but it had to be addressed at some point or another, and it was, immediately after practice,'' Dak said. "It was two grown men coming to an understanding and appreciating each other for the competitiveness and the standard
The “standard” : 11 TDs to 8 picks

The term Standard is in the eye of the beholder around the star. That being said, at least Shotty and Dak are openly addressing this. My hunch is it hasn't been addressed since Parcells. Let's at least give Shotty an A for effort . He's sticking his neck out there even making this a focal point. Pretty brave. I like it. We may not be very good but at least we finally have a HC who actually seems to care. It's a start. He's laying a foundational mantra.

This organization hasn't had a standard since Parcells. Way before Dak. At least now it's in full view and it's being openly spoken aloud by the HC. That's something new.

Exactly a year ago, that same word…”close,” was thrown out there by the team with regard to proximity to a championship.

What does that word imply? It implies that you aren’t currently good enough. Which means do what if you expect to get better?

The answer isn’t a 33 year old linebacker, and hope all your draft picks are instant studs.

This appears to already be more than a one off-season fix. If they do nothing yet again….Jerry has already implied that the big move is signing Parsons….this will sink into full rebuild mode by the end of the coming season.

Maybe Jerry already has a Netflix deal to promote the rebuild process and how he is doing it all himself.

The same verbage gets said every single off-season. Without fail. They dangle the carrot...the sweet whispers in our ear, and most fans eat it up every time. It's always the same so called sports hacks like Fisher that are the tip of the spear doing Jerry's bidding for public consumption. Have y'all noticed? It's always the same outlets. Same culprits.
