More UDFA's than 5th, 6th and 7th round picks combined???

Is that bad scouting or good scouting?

I would say once you are that deep into the draft the difference between a 5th rounder and UDFA is roll of the dice.

The one I'm most intrigued about is Spann-Ford. He can be a real weapon and he's like having an extra lineman on the field. I think we have more weapons on offense than anyone in the league and defense will definitely be improved. I think we're going to make a serious run this year. Finally.

You do not understand it because you are not thinking like Mad Genius, whose mindset was set by watching Jay Novacek. You keep repeatedly picking a high round player (i.e. 2nd round) believing they should eventually be as good or better than Novacek--who you know was good enough to help win three Super Bowls.

Of course, the irony is Novacek had been a Plan B free agent signee, whom the Cardinals originally drafted in the 6th round. 2nd round = safe pick for landing another Novacek, though. What is more ironic was Mad Genius' surprise in Jason Witten being all he ever wanted at the position...

...even though Witten was drafted in the third round.
