The Cowboys seem relegated to 3rd place in NFC East for foreseeable future.
We have so many holes (2nd WR, D-Line, etc.) to fill along with major cap limitations due to having so few players taking up such a high percentage of the Cap.
While the top two teams, Philly and the WFT, seem to have much more enviable roster makeups.
Philly: Has their QB, RB, TE, WR's, O-Line, D-Line, and overall Defense secured for at least a year or two.
Wash: QB, WR's, D-Line. The rest of their team is pretty good but, having their QB, who looks to be a Top QB in the making, playing on a Rookie contract for 4 more seasons, they will be able attract and sign good free agents.
Conversely, the Cowboys are in a much worse Roster situation. Having so much Cap tied up, we will be hard pressed to re-sign any players who are worth re-signing (Osa,Gholston, Turpin, Aubree, etc.) and we won't be able to pay for any top Free Agents to fill Roster holes.
I think we can work out something with Aubree by Franchising and Turpin since he is Restricted Free Agent. But Osa should expect to be a good prospect for other teams who have money to spend.
The Cowboys desperately need another WR to complement Lamb but all WR's currently on the Roster are more 3rd/4th tier talent. The Cowboys will not be able to pay for one of the top Free Agent WR's. They may Draft one in the 1st round but WR's usually take over a year to get up to top level unless they are a freak.
This also goes for being able to fill the holes on the D-Line via FA.
Dak has shown that he isn't a Force Multiplier type QB and needs help to succeed but his Cap hit will prevent that and it will be up to be something he isn't. And, given his injury situation, it's hard to see him being able to do it physically and mentally.

The Cowboys should have swept Washington.

We all new 2024 and beyond was going to be bad after getting embarrassed by the Packers. But it just kept getting worse with the offseason moves and we didn't expect Washington to find their franchise QB already. We are in for some dark days ahead. Just imagine if NYG finally gets it together

We didn’t expect Washington to find their franchise QB already? They’ve been searching for one for the past 3 decades. I never thought it would take this long. Daniels is the third QB they’ve taken in the top five since 1994. They burned six first round picks on QBs over that period.

...naw, everything changes in a year. Dallas almost made post season despite terrible year of injuries and losing thier QB halfway.

THey have lots of talent on this team. With right coaching, will be back in post season soon enough.

No one has won the NFC East back to back in a long time. Washington and Philly will have much harder schedules next year. Year to Year league.

I would agree that this is a year to year league but it's hard to see how the Cowboys can fill the major holes they have, D-line, WR, etc.
Unless you can guarantee CeeDee stays healthy, it's tough to see how they can address the WR position to provide a realistic option should he go down.
Nor can Dak elevate the play of WR's.
We don't have the Cap room to go out and sign one of the top WR Free Agents.
Osa is good, not great, but he will be a valued FA target for many teams. We don't have much if any true starting DT's on the roster and again, do you see the Cowboys spending big money in FA?
We should get a good draft pick at 12 but it's not wise to bank on rookies to set the world on fire.

Yeah I wish they still had Danny Snyder.

Even Daniel Snyder could win with the QB they have. It won’t be long before Daniels is a top 5 QB. He’s already the best QB in the division.
With a Ron Rivera or Jim Zorn as HC? Asumming they would have even drafted Daniels.

Any competent HC could win with Daniels. It’s obvious he’s special. The biggest issue with Washington over the years hasn’t been their coaches it’s been the QB. The last real promising season they had was during RG3’s rookie year. The injury late that season derailed his career and Washington began to fall off. They only concern with Daniels is his weight. He needs to put on about 15 to 20 pounds.
