That's what my son-in-law in Missouri says they are. He's had them jump in the boat with him.

They are Chinese, not Japanese.

I don't really think the video is funny either, those things are ruining a lot of habitats and killing off native species.

If they get in the great lakes, assuming they haven't already, they could change that ecosystem there forever.

Asian carp, yeah, often referred to as an aquatic nuisance because they consume so much food that they cause native fish populations to starve.

Thanks for the correction.

The video is a little funny to me (and I take a lot of things seriously). To be fair to the guys in the video, they did explain what the carp is doing to the ecosystem.

Obviously, I have no idea what carp is, much less what their "infestation" is doing to the rivers of the Midwest.

I do agree with you though that it is a subject that needs more attention.

Not just the Great Lakes....but everything between Minnesota and Maine too. Including my personal favorite lake, Champlain. Not a fan of these fish. They suck, and will destroy BILLIONS of dollars of industry if they get past the canals.

I wish there were a way to kill the lot of them....even if it killed off the native fishes. Then just reintroduce the native ones.
