CeeDee Lamb needs just 27 receiving yards to post his fourth straight 1,000-yard season.

How rare is doing it four times in a row? Assuming Lamb hits 1K, he’ll become just the second Cowboy in franchise history to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in four consecutive campaigns. Only Michael Irvin has pulled off that particular feat, topping the millennium mark five times in a row, every season from 1991 to 1995.

In fact, as hard as it may be to believe, Irvin and Jason Witten are the only Cowboys players with four or more 1,000-receiving-yard seasons at all in their careers. Dez Bryant didn’t do it. Drew Pearson didn’t do it. Not Tony Hill, Bob Hayes, or Frank Clarke.

After 64 years of Cowboys football, Lamb will be just the third member of that exclusive club.

It's a bit misleading to mention those players because the NFL wasn't the passing league that it became from the 1990s forward. If you don't have a 1,000-yard receiver now, it says a lot about the quality of your receiving corps. And that includes the tight ends.

This is great for Lamb, but it's still not as impressive as when Irvin did it. The league is a much more prolific passing league now than it was back then. Still, this is good for Lamb and is an accomplishment. I just hope the next time the Cowboys make it to the playoffs he doesn't disappear.

Brother, it's actually a bigger accomplishment for CeeDee since every opponent knows we don't have any other serious threat at WR other than CeeDee, hence why they double team him so much. This makes it so much harder for CeeDee to accomplish such a feat.

I'm trying to decide if it's especially impressive given he's the only offensive threat. Or is it completely predictable given he's the only offensive threat.
I'd say more impressive for sure, especially if you factor in that he's producing even with Cooper.

After the 27 yards....the FO should shut Cee Dee down. If not, they don't care about him or the investment in him.

Also, there were fewer games back in the day. Also, Lamb is pretty much the only weapon on the team.

That said, CeeDee is a great receiver, and I'm happy for him.

I've been impressed with his grit and desire to push through the injuries he is dealing with. The team needs more players like him.
