Let’s revise history here and assume that instead of trying to minimize Dak’s cap hit on his current contract that the team paid him $5m per year MORE than they did but instead Dak did not have a no trade clause?
What would Dak be worth in a trade in the last year of his deal AND would the Cowboys be flipping him for picks now? I think the answer to that is YES.
The Cowboys could still resign Dak now and play that same game currently, and trade Dak in a year. What say you about this possibility?
(For the record —I wouldn’t pay Dak $60M.).
