This is just a statement with regards to those that keep pinning hopes/blame to the offensive coordinator and coaches with regards to offensive performance.

The QB, especially a highly paid QB such as Dak wields the biggest input of everyone in the building with regards to offensive scheme and play calling. The ability to audible out of plays along with the ability to work with the coaching staff to develop a scheme and assortment of plays he feels most comfortable with goes with the contract. I hope to see fewer crappy takes with regards to what Kellen Moore and Mike McCarthy bring to the offense. If Dak wants a much more heavy run scheme-all he must do is audible to more run plays or speak with KM and MM. Tha end. KM does not hold the keys and neither really does McCarthy.

The scheme and play selection can help at times, but it is up to the players to execute. We will see Dak’s preference when the offense takes the field.

What are you expecting to see when Prescott returns?
Marino,Manning,Brady, we will all see a need to be carried QB once again.
If we're running it's a win if not a loss.
How many years of terrible QB play vs playoff-quality opponents does one need to watch to finally comprehend that Mr.Prescott is totally underqualified for the job and the paycheck he gets weekly?
Cowboy fans or better yet Cowboy brothers our team is going nowhere with Prescott.
I've been stating this since 2016 and so far he refuses to prove me wrong.
4-13 vs playoff opponents in the last 3 seasons........and you can keep the Garbage stats to fool yourself into believing that we have a top 10 QB at the helm......

When the defense can tell by the look of the offense what play they're likely to run, even an audible isn't going to help much. KM needs to draw up more plays that start with the same look.

That said, the QB needs to know when to audible out and when to stick with the plan, and at times it does seem like Dak usually wants to throw the ball. I know many of his staunchest detractors will have their own theories as to why. I'm not going to pretend I know his thought process.

Remember how Jerry said he was trying to create a "Dak friendly" offense?
Dak has the keys.

Dak touches every offensive snap.
Dak can change any play prior to the snap.
Dak, as the QB, is the highest paid player because of his importance to team success.

For these reasons the QB holds a much larger accountability to wins and losses.

Those that sing the it's a team song and diminish the QBs role, especially the top paid ones, do not understand this.

Dak, and the other 31 QBs in the NFL DO control their offenses and Dak and all the rest should be held accountable for its production.

Period.

Would you describe Dak as "savvy"?

I can't say he is or he isn't. I can think of more examples that indicate the latter than I can the former though.

It is one facet of a player that separates the best from the rest.

Somewhat true. KM is the one who puts the gameplan together yes with Daks input but it's equal blame

And like before he will fail. Because at the end of the day you cannot turn a bus driver into anything more than a bus driver.
I'm good and fine with a bus driver as long as he makes the right plays. If he audibles to a run 9times out 10 times, doesn't turn the ball over and we win I could care less if he has gaudy stats. Just drive the bus. I'll be livid if he puts the ball in harm's way. Also, Ceedee needs to be better.
