Something I kept track of back in the 90's on spreadsheets, started with Aikman, Irvin and Emmitt. As the climbed their way up NFL history. But with the internet data bases now, no need to track them. However I kept an eye on Tony and Dez.

Well now we have Dak and Zeke, and I won't even look at Wr at this point.
But it's slow, so here are a few team and NFL stats and where they rank. Yes they have 2 years, but still something to look at.

Dak
Team
#7 in passing yards with 6991. Needs 3288 to tie Morton. Dandy Don is next at 17,199
#7 in TD's with 45. Morton is next with 80, then Meredith with 135.
for those that want to knock him on INT's, he is #13 with 17. To get to #6, to tie Morton, he need to get to 73 picks.

NFL
#228 in passing yards with 699. If he goes a little over average and gets to 10,500 yards, he will go to #178
#218 in TD's with 45, and if he gets to 70, he will be #168. But if he gets to 80, it only brings him to $160. In 2 years, if he gets to 100, still only at #132.

Zeke
Team
#12 in rushing with 2614 yards, needs 1273 to pass Walt Garrison at #8, 1745 to pass Barber at #7.
Murray is at 4526 and Newhouse at 4789. for those that think he can get 200 yards or more.
#12 in TD's with 22. #6 is Newhouse with 31, then Calvin Hill with 39. Perkins with 42, Barber with 47. Can Zeke gets 25 TD's ?

NFL
Zeke needs 975 yards to crack the top 250. but in 2 years when he gets to 5000 yards, that puts him at #136
TD's a long haul. Need 5 to crack the top 250. But if he gets to 35 total, then he is at #157, 40 is tied with 8 at #112

now this is way early to look at this, but it is also fun, at least to me to see who they pass along the way. See some names you my have forgotten. Just glad I don't need to keep any spreadsheets thanks to the internet and pro football reference. And yes, back in 89 and 90 I put a lot of work and research into creating the team as well as the NFL top 100 players. That meant going to the library to get updated stat from only papers and sporting news from their archives. I still have the spreadsheets, just not updated since 2001. LOL

For the Garret lovers / haters / neutral fans
He has 68 regular season wins putting him at #67 all time. Even if they win 12 games and he gets to 80 wins, that moves him up to #60

Love the old school approach when early internet folks were searching for solid info. Thank you.

Love the old school approach when early internet folks were searching for solid info. Thank you.

Most football magazines listed the top 20 players all time in stats.
I had a book from 1988, it was about 3 inches thick, cost like $25 from a book store in a mall. It wasn't Barnes & Noble, but a big chain store at the time. Can't remember the name.

Anyway, if had every team and all the stats of like the top 500 players all time, and all team individual stats.
So I decided to take on a project to see how the triplets, before they were known as the triplets would move up in the Cowboys history books. However ever I need stat from 1989 on. Now I had the issues of Dallas Cowboys Weekly to use. But my project expanded to top NFL players as well. So what I did was go to the library, get old newspapers and sporting news to get stats of active players. and since no internet and no camera or digital phones to take pictures. and I was not going to pay 10 cents a copy. I wrote it all down.

This included rushing and passing and receiving yards, and TD's, receptions, QB's yards and TD's
Writing the info down was not all that big of a deal, but organizing it was.

Things weren't easy, as a click of a button as nowadays. Actual real work had to be done.

How many regular season losses does Garrett have? Got to be up there.

Is Dak already the Cowboys leader in rushing TD's for a QB in Cowboys history? Yards rushing?

He's tied with Rich Kotite, Wade Phillips and 33 other coaches in 88th place.

With just 3 more playoff victories, he'll pass Doug Pederson and break into the top 50.

LOL..............3 playoff victories more? OMG how long will THAT take? Another 10 -15 years. Well............I guess its a process.:lmao2::lmao2::lmao::lmao::flagwave::clap:

That 68 wins does include playoffs.

Garrett is 67 - 53 at .558 % in the regular season
1-2 in the playoffs so 68 - 55 for a .553 win %

Still lack of playoff success and lack of win and in games is a huge issue here.
It is like going 9-7 every year but not make the playoffs, but hey, he is a winning coach....he must be held accountable this year.

I am a Garrett expert. He has the WORST winning percentage in Cowboys history other than Campo. Both Wade and Gailey have better winning percentages then the hapless Garrett. Both of those guys were head coaches when Jerry was at his worst as GM.

It should also be noted that Garrett has had a franchise QB for EVERY year he was head coach. He never had to go through a QB finding process or lull in rebuilding in THAT way. In short, his record based on those facts is unacceptable.

Gailey was 18-14 and 0-2 in the playoffs for a .529%
Campo of course was 15-33, but after all the SB players were gone, that was to be expected, some down years. Did not matter what mode jerry was in. Even Bellicheck was not going to help this team at that time. did not matter about the QB either. ALL teams go through a period of finding a franchise QB.

Parcells was 34 - 32 including 0-2 in the playoffs for a .515 %
Phillips 35-25 and 1-3 in the playoffs, .583 % And this was with Jerry and his stupid moves as well.

I am in no way of defending Garrett here, but not a single coach has done anything since the mid 90's. So fans try to play this coach or that coach, like Parcels did better...well he didn't...
I still say it is time for Garrett to go. If they say they are building for a long run then they best get a coach to go along with that plan. Garrett is not that guy.

Ill be honest with you. My dislike for Garrett has everything to do with watching the way the guy coaches. In game management, scheme, no guts, and team preparation. Its the way that he coaches, the mistakes he makes, the lack of forethought or anything original that he does. Always behind the curve.

He is just NOT a true football guy with any kind of 6th sense for the game. Some guys just dont have it and Garrett doesnt.

Good administrator and a likeable guy. But not a bread and butter football guy. IMHO

This team has had plenty of talent, especially at the QB position to win more than 50% of its games in the Garrett era.

Can't disagree at all.
