I know....another Dak thread.. It's folly to think it won't cluster up...but I thought it would be interesting to compare what was said then versus now.

Here is the source that popped up first for me:

https://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2015/11/04/dak-prescott/

I encourage you to go ahead and read that first...and pick up some topics to discuss. If you think it's too negative...go ahead and find more positive things, and we'll see if he still uses those traits. It was hard to find positives in this article. I trust other people will be motivated to present them from some other source. Be mindful the topic is to compare rookie scouting with 10 years later.

I'm just gonna start with a few things I think might be interesting. Now remember, everyone has opinions so we'll have to respect them. We'll try to use some facts as well...but eye test AND stats can be misleading. Here...we....go.

"Prescott is worryingly inaccurate on the majority of all his throws. He can only execute passes downfield when his receivers win at the point of attack consistently."
This seems to still be true. We still talk about "wr separation". But of course you need some of that. You also need to throw tight as well.

"Dak Prescott has trouble completing all types of passes. In my film study, the root of his inaccuracy is not mechanical. There are no glaring technical flaws in his delivery, footwork or arm strength. His issues are almost strictly conceptual. He demonstrates a limited understanding of ball placement and struggles anticipating passing windows."
It would seem Dak might still struggle a little bit with this. I think he actually does struggle a little bit with footwork due to injury.

Here's an interesting comment on how we perceive things:
Proper ball placement is not only crucial to completing passes but it keeps an offense on schedule. This next clip illustrates the consequences of getting off schedule.

Then: At first glance, this errant pass looks mostly harmless."
It occurred to me this is the root of most disagreements. We can do "first glances"...or 'break it down". It's a personality issue as well as adeptness...which I know I lack.

" Knowing when to throw to an open receiver isn’t the only criteria for good anticipation. It’s also the ability to “throw” a target open."
Some people feel he does still struggle with this. And it does lend legitimacy to this skill...even though some people seem confused by it.

"Prescott mostly exhibits bad quarterback play in the face of pressure."
Hmmm

"Prescott is a rugged runner who punishes defenses once he gets moving downhill"
I don't believe he's going to do this much more.
