Video: Dallas Cowboys 2021 NFL Draft Targets | Round 1 Big Board Of Top Prospects

I know I'm a minority here but I'm now leaning to Parson at 10 over CB. This kid fills a huge need at LBer, not just this season but sets up nicely next year to move on from LVE or Jaylon. DB is a positional strength of draft....think I can get a starting CB and S with 44 and 75. In other words, unless Sewell, Pitts, or Slater drops to 10, I'm like Parson.

Yes, this will probably change in a couple of days.....lol

But then of course with the game becoming such a game that’s played in space, you can’t have enough of those linebackers who can cover and, as I mentioned, these tight ends are really create challenges, these long, athletic tight ends. And you certainly, if you get opportunities to find guys who can help. Certainly Jaylon [Smith] and Leighton [Vander Esch] are athletic and long. Stephen Jones

This tells me why they love Zaven Collins, he is big/athletic and long. Think they have him ahead of Parsons, maybe even over JOK.

What I'm saying is we have a chance at 10 to draft the best LBer........who is it? Is he worthy of the 10th pick? Remember as Gil Brandt says, this isn't your normal. A lot of different rules in play coz teams simply don't have enough info on players.

I like his list, the only change I think I'd make to the #10 options is Parsons. He's last on my fall back option list, in the "board is wiped out and we have no trade partner" scenario. At LB I'd rather draft JOK, Collins and Davis than him. But all 3 of these guys are probably trade back options more than pick 10 options. I'd throw in Phillips and OJ in there as well. So are a few of those O-lineman if they get there. And if Farley's back checks out he's still very much alive in this discussion.
But honestly, if they all check out medically, I'd rather take any of them over Parsons in rd 1. The guy is good and can play, but to me, he just isn't a fit for what we need at LB. I have him pigeon-holed as a 3/4 pass rushing OLB. I consider JOK more of an OLB too, but he has the cover skills that Parsons just doesn't have, so JOK's a LB/S hybrid that we can use. Where as Parsons is a pass rusher who can play the run.

I agree with the OP from a sense that the defense needs a azz kicker like Parsons in the middle leading the defense. Now he may not be "the guy", but they certainly need one.

Im with you ! One thing about McCarthy past with packers and last year. He has a tendency to draft guys in the first round they haven’t met with or talked to.

Gil has him rated pretty high......guess it depends on the type of defense/scheme

I truly believe Zaven Collins is their #1 LB in the class and cannot even rule it out at 10. You noticed he didn't mention a run stopper, but being able to cover in space. This fits Collins and certainly JOK, but they may view him as a Safety. Collins could be in play at 10, trade back or trade up target.

Parsons is the best LB in this class. Arguably the best defensive player in this draft. This team is not going to take an LB in round 1 with Smith and LVE still expected to be starters. It’s Surtain and Horn. Only thing that changes that outcome is if Pitta or Sewell are available.

No they don’t. Poor speculation.

I dont want Parsons at 10 at all,i feel he is a late 1st RD prospect.
Parsons is a total freak and a dream MLB.

watch the eagles take him right after us and he will be haunting us for years.

We don’t need finesse linebackers. Already have two of those. Personally I think your speculation is garbage. No offense.

Collins is not better than Parsons or JOK. I’d be shocked if this team took a LB in round 1 but you never know with this FO. Pitts, Sewell, Surtain, Horn in that order is who we would like to get IMO.

Parsons is 100% exactly what this defense needs smack in the middle of it.

Ask yourself that last time we had anything near a decent defense........2018, led by who, our LBers ( rookie LVE and Jaylon)
