With the Cowboys 2015 preseason completed, there are many players that caught our attention. As the make-up of the roster starts to take shape and player's roles become more defined, many of those decisions will be based on what has transpired over the last month.

Here are the top five performers of the Cowboys' preseason.

5. La'el Collins
While the starting left guard position seemed like it was going to be a roster battle during training camp, Ron Leary put that to rest early....

1. Randy Gregory
No defensive player logged more snaps against the Houston Texans than Byron Jones. No offensive player logged more snaps against the Houston Texans than La'el Collins.

Randy Gregory played zero snaps....

Collins is an odd choice. He'll be really good eventually, but he didn't win a starting job so that's probably a bit of a disappointment for him.

I am hoping that coleman can do just as well in the regular season as he did this summer. maybe if coleman plays well he can limit haydens snaps.

I would have probably included Gachkar in this list. He goes from ST player to probable starting mike linebacker. Smith & Collins won't start.

Not certain big winners necessarily means starting. it may mean making a lasting impression with showing not only potential, but skill set.

The fact that Gregory didn't play a single snap vs the Texans says the Cowboys like what they've seen and that he will be a big contributor this season. The fact that Jones and Collins played as much as they did vs the Texans points to them not being ready and needing work.

The fans. The horrible offseason is finally over and the drudge of preseason is finally over. Let the real games begin!!!!!

I'll be glad when they do away with the 4th preseason game they will eventually because there's no fan interest leading to sparse crowds. Not many fans want to spend money to watch a bunch of no names battle for roster spots.

The big winners are the Cowboys. This has been one hell of an offseason, draft and training camp. Good youth to go along with the veterans. From watching all the pre-season games I was perplexed on who makes the team and who doesn't. And, that was a good thing! And then to top that off, the Cowboys have Hardy and McClain coming in to help.

I don't know names or numbers right now, but I was surprised at a running back that I saw...he will get a job, somewhere. All in all, the Cowboys had to let a lot of talent go. Some cuts surprised me at the QB position.

However, I saw a team play physical football, even though they lost. But, they did win the last pre-season game....and that is what I liked.

Going forward is going to be fun!

To me the big winners are the guys who had little chance of making the team, and did
Collins, Gregory and guys like that we're gonna make the team
A guy like lucky or Garkar who went from a special teams guy to part of the starters conversation
Swain is a guy I never thought had a chance but earned a roster spot
They weren't top performers but they certainly were big winners in camp

When we drafted him, I really thought he would replace Doug Free. I like Free, but how long until he's replaced? Is there any chance Collins takes his spot and Leary stays where he is?

He's being groomed to replace Leary.
