Tyler Smith has been a really good addition to the team, and Sam Williams has a ton of potential. But Damone Clark may prove to be the best player the Cowboys drafted in 2022. A borderline 1st/2nd round talent if not for his injury, Clark has tremendous instincts, and is a big reason the Cowboys’ run defense has improved. He has also allowed LVE to play more freely, meaning both LB positions have gotten better because of the presence of Clark. I am really interested to see how much of a jump he takes in his 2nd season next year. I have high expectations.

The Cowboys may have gotten 5 starters in this last draft: Smith, Williams, Ferguson, Clark and Bland. And the jury is still out on Waletzko. Great drafting by the Cowboys, even if Tolbert has been disappointing.

They need to use him to spy Hurts in 2 weeks. I would get him started with Lawrence this week.

When he’s on the field it has a different feel. I love this kid and so happy for him. I was rooting for him in college. It was sad to hear with his spine.
Is this something that is fixed permanently or something he'll have future issues w/?

He had a disc fusion. It should be fixed permanently as the fused discs are actually stronger after surgery. The negative side is that it will reduce the patients range of motion as they essentially turn 2 discs into 1. So they have less flexibility in that area of their spine.

I like this kid a lot. We've got some high end talent, and youngsters in the wings. Makes me happy

Yes might be the best draft in the Maclay Era

I'm still trying to figure out if he can play at this level. I hope he's a "game changer" but I haven't seen it yet. I know it's still very early in the process. Im just not going to put the cart in front of the horse.

As of yet, i cannot say Clarke is a game changer. He does not even start.
But even as a rookie, he's flashed and shown promising signs that he could in time be a hopeful future star for us.

I was wrong in thinking his neck surgery and rehab would make him next year's project and he'll likely be red shirted This year.
And the Cowboys have done a good job in gradually breaking him along the way instead rushing him and placing too much burden on him.

Not sure he’s a game changer yet, but he seems to be showing up a bit more each game.

Appears to have the instincts and physicality needed to be a quality MLB. Would be huge if he can be that dude for us the next several years.
At a bargain basement price.
