If he leaves to be a HC, he won’t leave to go to a dumpster fire that has issues on offense. Their defense was one of the best in the league, their offense is broken.

What sense would it make to bring in a defensive coach lol?

Who wants Russell Wilson's contract today with that dumpster fire?

Other than San Diego, I don't see an attractive job opening forthcoming for seasoned guys like Payton and Quinn.

We might get to keep him for that reason only.

His resume is going to be as good as most candidates. He is well-connected within football so can easily find an OC and sell the GM on his plan. Hackett was just terrible but even Vic Fangio before him had them at 7 wins with no QB so Quinn could probably do better.

He also was with the Seahawks during their two years with Russell Wilson so there is plenty of familiarity there. I don't think he will be turned off by how bad Wilson looked this year. For him it's a no-brainer, if he's looking to get back into HC then you might as well take your chances with a QB you know than go to some rebuilding team trying to find their next QB in the draft.

I was all in on Quinn earlier in the season, but now it appears he needs talent to win like all coaches.

We can keep both of them if we want: All Jerry has to do is strongly endorse them and the other teams will say, "yea, no thanks"
