From the Falcons days Quinn's defenses have the reputation of giving up big comebacks, the worst of all to the Patriots in the SB.

His defense with the Seahawks was the best he's had but that one got superior talent all around.

This D has some bright spots but seems to shrunk in big moments, no passrush dominance against Rodgers in the 4th Qtr. when it was needed the most, no stopping the run, Jones got positive yardage in almost every attemp and remember what the Bears and Eagles did to this D on the ground. No solid play on the secondary, mostly giving big yardage and looking for opportunistic INTs that sometimes cost big completions too.

So whats the problem, Scheme? Talent? Curse?

To my eyes they are a hit or miss defense, they stress too much the sacks and ints and are undisciplined against the run, they lack talent and strenght, specially in the LBs corp they need the offense to run the ball and get ahead to be effective, and even so, today they just fell in their *** against a team that is having a lousy season. They have been figured out by the league I'm afraid.

The problem isn’t anything you listed. It’s the entire franchise itself and what it’s become.

the culture. The attitude. Watching the Cowboys is more like watching an episode of the Real Housewives than watching an NFL game. The culture itself is like a deadly toxin. Once the franchise touches a player, that player is ruined. Amari started sucking after his first year here. Ceedee, Diggs, Parsons, all recently added players are starting to succumb to this horrible cultured toxin that is the pampered, spoiled society of the Dallas Cowboys. No other team in the NFL acts like this. No other team in the NFL constantly defies expectations in the worst way possible. No other team in the NFL is this putrid under the brightest lights. This team is an embarrassment to all things football and I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing outright refusals to be drafted by this team by future prospects if we don’t clean up our act in fast.

Agree, I was focusing on the Defense and Quinn, but I agree, the problem goes much more deep, its the Joneses, and that is the real curse, nothing is going to save us from that, if anything it will get worse once Jerry checks out and Stephen Cheapo takes over.

Dan Quinn, Gus Bradley, Kris Richard, etc. - they get associated with coaching the Seattle Legion of Boom defenses but we just have to realize they aren't recapturing that magic anywhere else. Pete Carroll was the real guru.

It was the same thing with all those defensive assistants that Jimmy had on the 90s Cowboys. Dave Wanndstedt, Butch Davis, Dave Campo. Those guys got their opportunities with other teams and they just couldn't build the same defenses that they had under Jimmy.
