Danny Aiello, the blue-collar character actor whose long career playing tough guys included roles in "Fort Apache, the Bronx," "The Godfather, Part II," "Once Upon a Time in America" and his Oscar-nominated performance as a pizza man in Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing," has died, his publicist confirmed to CBS News on Friday. He was 86.

he had a tv show in the mid/late 90s I liked...played a retired cop....can't think of it right now.

I enjoy listening to Ron Darling (former Met and now baseball analyst) because he sounds just like Danny Aiello.

and was a really good show that just didnt gain traction.
but I enjoyed EVERY episode.

I didn't know he was that up there in age, but liked him and his roles and the presence he brought to those roles.

i remember him most for Do the Right Thing, The Professional, Harlem Nights, Fort Apache, the Bronx, and The Godfather.

RIP Danny great man and a good actor.....met him when he visited our school he was down to earth spoke to us like we were his buddies...he will be missed.
