Outside of certainty at defensive tackle, Zimmer knows he inherited a big box full of toys.

He's aggressive without losing soundness. Quinn did well, but he got gimmicky at times. It produced a ton of turnovers, but also gave up too many big plays.

My only complaint continues to be, why is Micah Parson always on the field in garbage time. He needs to set his stat goals aside and realize he sucks at the end of seasons because of this unnecessary wear and tear. I do like how Zimmer is moving him around more. Quinn got away from that.

And with Kendricks and Overshown in the middle, the defense looks much faster and more dynamic. Overshown looks at fast as Micah.

DQ had these guys playing well at times, but the biggest issue was intensity. If Week 1 is any indication, I may not scream at my TV as much

No, the biggest issue was no linebackers. Marquese Bell and Javon Kearse were playing linebacker, and they got mowed down in the run game.

Quinn tried to create big plays at the expense of giving up too many big plays. Zimmer doesn't do that, but he's still really aggressive.

not to mention he had 280lb DT playing and rushing up field. that left the 215lb LBs getting mowed over

That was definitely the biggest issue, but none of those defenses were particularly good against the run. We had a pattern where we'd have a game where no one played their assignments and we'd get gashed then the following week(s) play much more sound. It's like they would get carried away with stopping the run ON THE WAY TO THE QB, and lose focus. Every once in awhile he'd have to rein then in.

LB was an issue, but how many games did we see our D pull off hits/tackles? Didn't see any of that on Sunday....

I agree 100% with this. Why in the world is Parsons, and Diggs still on the field when game is clearly won?

overshown has micah beat on the 10 yard split, after that its all micah... You can really see it on one of those replays where overshown out runs parsons to watson.

Zimmer really relies on his linebackers, whereas Quinn did everything he could to free up the defensive linemen. More gap integrity up front makes it harder to create gaping run holes, especially with the linebackers either shooting the gaps or filling. Whether that will consistently result in the pressure we saw this week is hard to say, but it worked for one game without leaving us vulnerable to the run game.
