Zimmer doesn’t wear the cap backwards which bothered me with Romo more than DQ but Zim is old school . I wanted a younger DC but I’ve really warmed up to Zim and truth be told if a deep playoff run doesn’t occur he’s probably in line for HC in 25 unless a torpedo like GB hits .
Love Zimm.

was expecting more AAgap looks though.

everything looks like 4-2-5 base.

He knows like Jimmy Johnson, how to get the best performance mentally from your players. Confidence equals performance.
There is a caveat to that. While you're right, you can't push them into the realm of overconfidence or we get the same results as the Green Bay game. Zimmer knows how to strike that balance in the players.

I trust Zimmer knows what he is talking about when it comes to the defense.
We’ll find out as a season goes on especially when we get to December. That’s when the cracks he usually start showing with the defense. Having playoff success all starts with the defense in my opinion. We usually win when our defense plays well, especially when we force turnovers.

Some players will gravitate to Zimmer others won't. Mazi may actually benefit. We can only hope.. I actually liked what I saw on Sunday from Mazi. Not all world by any stretch but I saw him on the field and I saw the Browns doing NOTHING. So... We'll see.

He was using techniques to disengaging block that worked on preseason yet they did not work on NFL starters. Given that they are new techniques to him, this is not surprised to me given player development. Even then, he was able to hold the POA and keep line integrity.

I look forward to watch him continue to get better the next couple of years. Double that if Zimmer sticks around. DQ was a great DC but not for Mazi. Zimm is.

I am waiting to see how the defense fares against Baltimore. If the defense plays well that week watch out.

I think his biggest problem is what I called out during the draft, he has always struggled locating the ball carrier. I also agree with Broaddus’ take that he struggles getting moved in the run game.

I know the Cowboys have had issues with overconfidence in the past.

I never dreamed that a 1st round pick in the National Football League would ever have a confidence issue.

Is Mazi having trouble adapting to the reality that all O-linemen play for nothing more than the opportunity of hitting back?
