FRISCO, Texas – Justin Durant returned to practice Wednesday, but the Dallas defense still looked a bit short-handed.

Of the Cowboys’ four absences for their first practice of Week 14, three came on the defensive side of the ball. Even with Durant working his way back into the activities, Morris Claiborne, J.J. Wilcox and Orlando Scandrick were all absent.

Scandrick’s absence isn’t injury-related, as he is coping with a death in the family.

I found this tidbit interesting:

There was speculation Tuesday that Randy Gregory might be eligible to practice on Wednesday, as part of his return from suspension on Dec. 19. However, reports surfaced indicating that the NFL had ruled against Gregory practicing because the Cowboys are already too good without him. Garrett confirmed Wednesday morning that the second-year defensive end would not be on the field.

Cowboys might need to get another corner if Scandrick is dealing with a foot injury. Cromartie was cut from the Colts because he protested during the anthem. Might not be a bad time to get him if we're gonna be light at corner. He's been wanting to play for the Cowboys for the last few years.

Obvious BS, but also really funny because in reality our DLine is statistically one of the worst in the league.

Stopped me if you've heard this one before,
Chaz Green DNP. Got to love this guy. Mr. Consistent

Some athletes are tough enough to withstand the rigors of football and playing in the NFL while others are not.

When Chaz Green is out of the league in two years time, there will be no question from him or anyone else why.

It'd be really nice to have gotten Gregory in for a few weeks and have him ready for a playoff run. With he and Claiborne back, we'd be in about as good a shape as we could hope for defensively to end the season. Either one of those guys can give us a handful of splash plays we wouldn't otherwise have in the post season.

Condolences to Scandrick's family, too. Glad to hear he didn't take a personal day because he was unhappy with his role, though.

Jerry or Jason won't have any part of that crap of kneeling. He would be gone.
And I think he was cut more because he just can't play anymore.

Scabdrick was off due to a death in the family.

Regardless, I thought about Cromartie but that's not how this team works. Jones would play some more corner before we bring someone else in IMO.

There is no way that is true. Jerry would actually grow a set and say something in this situation.
