It's going to be interesting to see how they handle this season after losing Phil and some of the boats pulling out then coming back.

Oh them sneaky sum beeches. They played the Northwestern deal so dang good, I fell for exactly what they were trying to sell.

Yeah, I think Phil being gone is going to hurt em.

I love the show but man.......he was one of those guys you just wished you knew. Never played it up for the camera, just is who he is.

For some reason I love the shows like this.

I've caught myself watching Gold Rush and Axe Men in the last few months. Just interesting stuff.

Watch the heck out of Gold Rush, Swamp People, Sons of Guns, and now Deadliest Catch.

Honestly, it's about the only TV I watch with any regularity whatsoever.

I only watch Axe Men because of Shelby Stanga the cajun dude. He kills me. :laugh2:

Me too. I watch all those channels.

TLC
Discovery
History
A&E
MSNBC (Lockdown)
FOOD Network
HGTV

I like American Pickers and Pawn Stars is somehow addicting. Only one I can't get into is Storage Wars (or whatever it is). That woman really does look like Bill Parcells and the idea behind it sucks.

I'm probably the type of viewer that FOX, CBS and ABC hate. I watch all the stuff they don't even bother broadcasting on their main channels.

Same here. That dude is awesome. He dove onto an alligator in a show I saw a little bit ago. Straight dove onto it in like 12'' of water. He's pretty funny, too.

Then again, watching that one guy argue with his son is pretty entertaining as well.

Thing that sucks is you don't get nearly enough footage of the entertaining crews. You get plenty of the guys who are stuck in the mountains of Oregon but not enough of those back-country crazies.

Although, JD (is that his name......crazy guy that joined the rival logging headed up by a fat guy and his dad) is pretty entertaining.

Yeah he is. And his son is almost sack-less but he has fired back a little bit lately.

The dad is almost worthless. Basically a lifeguard who watches from his perch.

Two minutes in and I was crying already. Damn, I miss Phil.

I only watched the first hour because I won't miss The Good Wife. I'll catch the rest tomorrow.

Missed it

On a side note, driving past Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, I saw a huge 18-wheeler there emblazoned with "Ice Road Truckers" all over it. Love that show.

I missed it. I haven't even brought myself to watch the episode where Phil died last season.

That's a tough one.

But absolutely excellent television.

Phil's camera man said that he always gave him a hard time about trying to create a story out of what was happening on the boat. However, while they were in the hospital, Phil called him over (they were very good friends at this point), and wrote a note (he couldn't talk at the time) saying "Have to finish the story."

Phil realized that it was important to tell the story, and he didn't mean the show, he meant his story. Phil wanted us all to know what happened.
