One of the things I thought Cooper Rush did really well during his starts was making quick decisions with the ball, reading the defense presnap, knowing where the pass needed to go and trying to get it there. I felt this was one of the few things he did better than Dak.

Rewatching the first two drives of the Bears game, I'm impressed by how decisive Dak was, quickly setting and getting the ball where it needed to go. Maybe Dak has been better at that than I'm remembering, our maybe that's something he picked up from watching Rush that will improve his game. Always something to learn.

Prescot looked a lot like that QB who was guiding this team in the first half of last season. He looked in control. he looked like he knew what he was doing, wasn't sweating all over the place. He looked and played like a 40 million dollar a yr QB today! This doesn't mean I'm all in on him today, but if he keeps playing like this the Boys have a big chance to go deep into the playoffs!

Yup, much more decisive today than other times….didn’t pay the ball and run in place in the pocket looking like he couldn’t read what he saw. Except for that overthrow on the pic….this is the Dak most of us wanted. He’s had his moments, just needed more like this and less stinkers like Denver and SF last year, Tampa this year….especially not in the playoffs. We need to have better/consistent play calling too, it’s not all
Dak, sometimes Kellen gets stupid with his calls (like his stretch/sweep runs with Zeke, he can’t run those anymore).

Yes, it was nice to see. If he regains that form, then we've got good balance between the offense and defense. As today showed, sometimes one side has to make up for the other not playing it's best. For various reasons, this wasn't the D's best day. The offense had its best, though, and hopefully more of that is to come.

When Dak starts sweating, he's about to kick you-know-what. :p

Nice progress coming off the injury. Might not be able to be that decisive against every defense, but my understanding is that the Bears have not been bad vs. the pass.

Or maybe Moore stopped calling all of those option routes where Dak had to wait to read the defender.

He's decisive because he's in rhythm. When we call plays that allow him to use his legs he picks up that key first down or two early. All of a sudden he gains confidence, gets into the game flow. Thats what he did tonight.

You cannot ask dak to just sit back in the pocket and make throws. We need to call more plays that enable him to run like we did today. It worked very well, and it got him into rhythm.

Considering what we saw from Rush, I'm not sure that we can put it all on Kellen. Maybe he learned something as well, though. Whatever the reason, it was nice to see us getting the ball out quickly without much hesitation.

My casual, uneducated input on the Dak debate after this game comes down to what all the Anti-Dak posters were claiming was his issue and did Dak have those issues today.

The main red flag that Anti-Dak posters were leaning on was his inability to beat defenses that drop 7+ into the secondary. Doesnt matter what you call it or if it is man or zone. Does 2 High make a difference if there are 7+ back?

The question about Dak today should be: Did he face 2 High/7+ drops by Chicago? If he did...how did he do against those looks?

Obviously Dak did good today...but I dont know what defense he was completing passes on and/or if he made the correct read.

The next red flag the Anti-Dak crowd leaned on was not being able to throw guys open. Again...I dont know if Dak proved haters wrong today in that regard or not. He seemed to throw the ball fine to me today but Im a casual.

We need a more educated person that is willing to provide accurate info tell us how Dak performed read wise and if it was against his supposed nemesis the 7+ dropped defenders.

This was Dak at his best that we have all seen before, we just need to keep it rolling.

Yes, and we now have a bye week to get everyone right. So, with that, I hope this sets us up with Dak nicely to where he can keep playing like this. If he does, then we can be a real challenger.

agree he was ripping them , good to see some of that on slants with WR on the move compared to the Garrett run to spot and stop

Maybe Mr Prescott watched n learned from Mr Rush's relative success in the decision making process. Say what you will but Mr Rush never seems to be deer in the headlights or pressing. Mental part of his game is good.

Go Cowboys!

QBR is such a better stat than passer rating. Dak had a nearly identical passer rating this week (114.5) and last week (113.3) but his QBR was 93.8 this week compared to 48.5 last week. He clearly played so much better this week. Dak always needs reps -- I don't know why MM didn't play him in the preseason.

Dak's got plenty of arm despite what some posters on here think. He can definitely rip it.

He seems to go mentally awol in stretches but by and large he has the ability to take the team where it needs to go.

One thing this team cannot do- and we do it far too often is gear down for any reason.

No resting starters ever again under any circumstances- unless it's Micah Parsons. He has to have full batteries the entire postseason for this team to win it all.

Rush only made about two reads and he was getting rid of the ball whether someone was open or not.

Dak's issues last year was since the Denver game teams figured out the running game wasn't a threat and they played coverage and Dak had a difficult finding someone open consistently. They need a running game to keep the defense honest and off balance.
