Defense Has 5 Sacks in Last 5 Games

We are going to need these guys to step it up in the postseason with our lack of a running game on offense. We have had 5 sacks and 6 defensive turnovers over the last 5 games. 3 of those turnovers came in the Philly game so we only had 3 turnovers in the other 4 games.

We may have stopped getting sacks and turnovers but we've made up for it by continuing to commit penalties at our league high rate. We got that on lockdown.

that's not going to cut it in the playoffs. not only that in the last 5 games they have given up 660 yards of rushing. only 6 turnovers with 3 coming against Philly.

not an elite defense by any stretch of imagination.

Same thing happened last year. Someone abused the run defense, and sacks went down by a mile as they tried to lock it in.

-Seahawks - they got the ball out extremely quick all game… Micah ended their last drive though.
-Eagles - we allows only 13 points. Micah has a key sack against lane Johnson.
-bills - they ran the ball… barely had to throw. When they did throw we got pressure.
-Dolphins - defense not poor not great.
-Lions - d played well till last drive. Got good pressure vs a good oline.

Point is teams can neutralize our pass rush if they choose to alter their game plan offensively. We need to adjust back when they do that. But it’s not all about sacks. When teams pass we’re getting pressure

Nice run down. The D played well enough to win in Miami (until the last drive), and picked off Goff twice. Pressure is there just not the sacks.

Defense absolutely needs to step up moving forward. Not enough plays being made over the last 5 games. Granted, they were far better vs the lions

IMO, the Cowboys have gotten less aggressive with the pass rush to play the run better. Micah was off ball more last week than he was earlier in the season. But it is also true that the rest of the DL has not picked it up at all.

The other thing is the games have been closer or Dallas has been behind which allows the other teams to mix up the play calling. The sacks and turnovers will come if Dallas can make the other team one dimensional throwing the football.

TBH, if I was a HC facing the Cowboys I would run the ball 67% of the time. I would throw on 1st down and run any other down even on 2nd and 10. The Cowboys have not shown they can shut it down consistently.

Micah’s pressure rate is top of the league while being double teamed.

I don’t think we should be asking more from him.

We’re getting pressure but not getting home. We had 54 sacks last season compared to 42 so far this year.
