Deja vu, Cowboys?

Déjà vu: A feeling that one has seen or heard something before.

Date was December 12, 2021. The Cowboys needed to beat the Washington Commanders to secure the NFC East Division lead and host a game in the playoffs. It's ironic because the Cowboys beat the Commanders in Washington DC in a close but hard fought game: 27 - 20. Cowboys had a huge lead early, but mistakes and a costly turnover in the 2nd half allowed the Commanders to make a comeback. Luckily, our Cowboys prevailed and won the key division matchup.

It's the same game where Commanders LB, Bradley-King, put a late hit on Dak along the Cowboys sideline where La'el Collins and Zeke came over and defended Dak.

Zeke is no longer around (neither was La'el for the past 2 seasons), but La'el is suddenly back in time to help our injury-riddled Oline go to Washington DC and hopefully repeat what the Cowboys did in 2021, win the division and secure the #2 seed along with the first 2 playoff games at home. This has a feeling of déjà vu happening all over again.

Do you really want Deja Vu of that season? Yeah we hosted a first-round playoff game and lost.

It's about the game at the Commanders that sealed the division title and host in the playoffs. Thought it was pretty clear in the OP?

You: "repeat what the Cowboys did in 2021, win the division and secure the #2 seed along with the first 2 playoff games at home."

No duh. You took it beyond that to the postseason. Incorrectly I may add - they didn't have 2 home playoff games they lost the 1st one.

Not the repeat I'm looking for but carry on...

The last two times Dallas was the 2nd seed, they faced the 49ers in the championship game. Is BigMac more like Jimmy Johnson? Or Barry Switzer?

Did Wash have the 2nd overall pick in the draft? Didn't think so.

One big reason the Cowboys haven’t been back to a Super Bowl in 28 years is they’ve struggled to win the games that really matter. They’ve folded under the pressure. In 2012 they lost a season finale elimination game in Washington. They had to win the division to make the playoffs and choked against a one legged RG3. Romo melted down with 3 INTs and our defense gave up 200 yards to a rookie RB.

The Cowboys have lost 2 NFC title games in Washington in 73 and 82 and a season finale elimination game in 2012. They’ve struggled to win big games in Washington, which is why they better be totally focused and ready to play on Sunday regardless the team Washington has. Not to mention the struggles they’ve had on the road this season.

Just like Landry in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969.

What is your problem? Seriously?

I was referring to the same scenario against the same opposing team to beat this time of year in order to secure the #2 seed and gain home field advantage for the first 2 rounds of the playoffs. However those game(s) turn out, no one knows, but no sane Cowboys fan would want it to end in a 1st round loss as it did during that 2021 season. Common sense, so what is it you don't understand?
