Romo could be a Delhomme.
Not a great arm. Moxie. Good swing. Low handicap.
Who would have thought?
Throw it up for grabs?
Ok. Maybe.
But wins with big performances. Smart.
Confident. Rag arm.

Lets hope.

I wouldnt say that Delhomme has a rag arm. Is it the strongest Arm in the game, no, but it's more than sufficient. We won't know if Romo is a Delhomme until he plays real NFL games.

Can we see Romo throw a pass in an NFL game before comparing him to a QB who's been to a SuperBowl...and tje championship game next week, with the chance of getting to a second Super Bowl?

Laughable...I say Romo!

The thing about Delhomme is that while with the Saints he made the most of his opportunities and when he got a chance to play he stood out and made plays. I watched him a few times he played and knew that he would play well before we played him that Christmas Eve game against the Saints a few years ago.

Romo's problem right now is he just hasn't been good enough to get on the field. Everyone talks about Henson needing playing time, but Romo is 3 years removed from College ball and he hasn't played a snap in a regular season game.

Romo needs to be in Europe just as much as Henson does.

Romos arm is pretty close to Delhomes. Good arms but just not cannons. I dunno what we have in Romo but I just think Henson has way more upside and when given a chance can do so much more then Romo.

Apparently some people have the amazing ability to judge talent based on pre-season performances.

According to Troy Aikman, Delhomme has a very strong arm. He said when he saw Delhomme throw before the game, he was making all the throws an strong arm NFL QB needs to make.

I didnt' think Delhomme had a strong arm until I heard this from Aikman but I'll take Troy's word for it.

its a shame we didnt sign Delhomme when we had the chance, there wouldnt have been Vinny Testaverde, Drew Bledsoes, and the great Romo vs Henson debates.

That would have seriously been a direction changer. I HATE that we still have a dinasaur back there and I hate the fact that we will be addressing the QB position ALL OVER AGAIN in a year or two.:(

In any other situation Delhomme would be a big failure imo. He has a history of recievers having to adjust to his passes.

He's absolutely got a strong arm...I've seen him in the QB competitions...he was consistently winging the ball 70 yards.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and state that we have two QB's on the roster who can throw the ball that kind of distance and Romo isn't one of them.

It may not be wise to be comparing Romo who has never thrown a pass in a real NFL game to Delhomme who has been to a SB. But I'd have to say that is just as unwise to be rolling you eyes and laughing at the prospect. In his limited opportunities Romo has shown that he has something to work with and has the potential to become a very good QB. Does he have the intangibles that Delhomme has? We won't know until he plays. It is not the time to put him on a pedestal but neither is it the time to write him off.

I agree completely there about arm strength. I think Romo might have good enough arm for NFL, but no way he has Delhomme arm strength. Jake's throws don't seem to float and he has zip on most throws short or medium range.

Yeah, he might not be one of the strong arm QBs in NFL, but he ain't no weak armed either. Now if someone is overestimated on Arm strength, I would point ot Peyton Manning.

Rag arm? Delhomme? You must be watching different games then. Does he have a strong arm like Drew Bledsoe? No, but he ain't weak or avg Arm strength either.

Now comparison to Romo? Come on now. I am one of those guys who said he might turn to be a Jake Delhomme kind of player, but thats far from comparing him to Jake right now.

Personally I see a huge difference in their demeanor or how they talk between Romo and Delhomme. Romo just rubs me wrong for some reason when he talks. He just comes out as very cocky/confident guy ( however you want to term it), without having proven jack on the field.

But then when you look at Romo and how he behaves, he doesn't seem like the guy who talks like that, seems like a pretty likeable guy. I guess he doesn't know the art of saying the right things or doesn't know when to shut his mouth about some things :D
