The kid's trending downward ( never agree with the top projection). Question......would you take him at 24? Jerry Jones would .......exactly his kind of move

Stingley has ideal size (6-1, 195), speed and fluidity for the position. He had a monster freshman season, but his play was inconsistent in 2020 and 2021. He is at his best in press coverage, as he effectively re-routes wideouts with a one- or two-hand jam. He has easy speed to carry vertical routes and can flip his hips smoothly to redirect on underneath routes. Stingley is always in position downfield, but he's given up some plays on 50/50 balls. From off coverage, he has a smooth pedal and explodes out of his plant/drive. His instincts are excellent, but I do have concerns with his effort and execution as a tackler. Overall, Stingley has all of the tools to be an elite cover man, but he needs to play with more urgency and aggression.

I think Stingley carries a tremendous amount of risk, but he has the raw talent to be the best CB in the league. In a draft with few blue chippers at the top, I can't see him escaping the top ten.

The way I see it, this draft has 2 blue chippers who are just built different: Kayvon Thibodeux and Kyle Hamilton. The tier of guys after them is Evan Neal, Icky Ekwonu, Aiden Hutchinson, and Charles Cross. After that, there's probably two dozen Garrett Wilson and Jermaine Johnson types. I don't see a lot of differentiation between the #10 pick and the #30 pick.

I wouldn't take Stingley before the sure-fire studs like Hamilton or Icky, but I can't justify passing on an All-Pro level talent for Garrett Wilson either. He is in that #5-#10 type of range for me.

My problem is he really hasn't done much since his freshman year. His entire evaluation is on that year.........honestly, I wouldn't take him at 24, just much risk for me.

I'm going to say PASS.

Way to many other needs and I feel he is a bit overrated.

I said a few days ago, he scares the death out of me, but at 24 you hand it the card.

The other part of his evaluation is his off-the-charts athleticism. Out of high school, he ran a 4.30 40 with a 42" vert. Watching him on film, I have little doubt he runs in the 4.3s at 6'1" 190.

It looks like Stingley won't test at the Combine as he is still rehabbing a foot injury, but he says he will run at LSU's Pro Day. Pro Day times are always a little dubious, but I expect him to put up some mind melting test results there.

If the medicals check out I'm not sure where the talk about him sliding check out...from what I've heard on the draft show he's just not a super outgoing and vocal guy. As long as he is a hard worker and not an off the field concern who cares?

Cooper is ho humming his way to 10K+ receiving yards in the NFL with the same kind of personality.

Would you take him at 24 regardless of who's on the board.......

I would take Hutch, Thibodeaux, Icky and Neal over him...that's it.

If he starts slipping close enough to our pick someone I'd consider moving up for. He's that good...again if the off the field and medicals check out.

If he is clearly the highest rated player on the board you take him. I doubt he gets there but I'd rather do that than another Taco situation reaching for need. I expect somebody unexpected to be there but I think on offense.
.

The thing about stingley is yes I would take him but I would definitely sign Pat Peterson and move both Lewis and Brown.
Diggs Joseph and Stingley
With Peterson as the deep man FS and Mentor would do wonders for all three of those guys.

At 24 yes. We have other needs, but in the 1st you need to take game changing talents if they are there. No one at 24 would be close to his caliber if he fell.

We have number at CB, but Lewis and Brown arent guys that influence your team building. And we dont know enough about Joseph and Wright to say "Nah we are good" on a top caliber talent like Stingley

You can trade Brown and Lewis gain more assets and saves money.
Which is what the Cowboys are trying to do.

I’ve long thought Stingley is overrated (check my receipts!). There are serious questions about his mental makeup and love for the game.

This is a no-brainer. If the medicals are in check he’s too good of a talent to pass on. The talent and skill set are elite. Now the questions about him quitting on his teams are something he’s going to have to answer.

He isn't a leader yet. He needs a mentor like Peterson who can play fs and help Diggs and Joseph.

This is a player I would take sign Peterson ship Brown for a 3rd and Lewis for a 6th.
Maybe they and bring over Okudah from the lions. Use Peterson as a S.

Start Stingley and Diggs on the outside and Joseph in the Nickle
