DeSean Jackson: "They think I'm the new T.O."

At an autograph signing Thursday in New Jersey, DeSean Jackson and the public relations man present with him made it clear the wideout didn't want to talk about Donovan McNabb.

Jackson sounds tired of making headlines for his words.

"They think I'm the new T.O.," Jackson said about some fan reaction to him.

Well, trying to quiet a minor controversy is certainly not Owens-like.

Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News points out that Jackson has quickly become the face of the franchise. Jackson says he doesn't feel that way.

The back-and-forth with McNabb was blown out of proportion, but Jackson has to get used to the heightened scrutiny. He doesn't want to be Owens off the field, but he's easily the biggest Eagles playmaker on the field since the T.O. show left town.

Let 2010 be the year his 5'6" 140lbs frame starts collecting nagging, non-rest of life threatening, injuries.

What people think he's TO?

No offense, and all, but no one should even be mentioning this guy in the same breath as TO, even with the diva stuff.

TO has been a monster in this league for over a decade. DJax needs to play for a little while longer, and accomplish a whole lot more, before he's mentioned in the same sentence as TO.

It's one thing when a proven WR whines, cries, and does what TO did there. It's another thing, all together, when a 2 year WR, with skills that I don't deny, is trying to act like he's a 10 year Hall of Fame bound vet.
