Even though they are projected to receive future compensatory picks, the Dallas Cowboys did not trade a ton of 2025 capital during this draft.

The future is not predictable. But for so much of this offseason we have all kept our eyes on the great beyond in one very specific way. That the Dallas Cowboys allowed so many of their own free agents to walk was frustrating, but in some way we could hang our hat on the idea that they were going to receive compensatory picks as a result of it down the line.

Nothing is guaranteed about future compensatory picks, but it stands to reason that the Cowboys will do everything that they can to avoid compromising the formula given the road they have taken to this point. OverTheCap.com has the Cowboys qualifying for five comp picks next year.

If OTC is right Dallas should get three 5th round and one 6th round comp draft choices. That's about 70 points in draft capital. Or what would have been the 12 pick in the 4th round in this years draft.

After the 4th, I didnt see them making a move. Draft was considered historically weak at that point

A team can only get 4 comp picks maximum. And that is only if the league does not exceed 32 comp picks total, not including special comp picks for minority coaches getting hired.

The Cowboys should get the 3 5s and 1 6th. But I am curious whether Armstrong and Biadasz will actually net 5th rounders.

In any case, since these picks are given at the end of each round, I look at them as 6th and 7th rounders.
