Deuce Vaughn West Coast - https://footballfilmreview.com/how-deuce-vaughn-fits-mike-mccarthys-west-coast-scheme-like-a-glove/
Mike McCarthy might just have an interesting plan in mind for these rookie weapons. When he called plays he often used 20 personnel with 3 wr which gave defenses (including ours) fits. Because the run game and pass game were equally as strong. He highlighted this by having backs and receivers that were versatile. Backs splitting out wide and receivers at times in the backfield.
McCarthy mentioned using Deuce similar to how he used Randall Cobb and watching the tape it makes sense. Deuce is a HB that can play in the slot and Cobb was a WR that MM moved around including in the backfield. So when thinking about the HB room I wonder if Deuce's order on the depth chart isn't so much where he fits with TP, RoJo and Malik Davis but more where he gets in as more of a utility player.
Also seeing MM use WRs in the backfield makes me go back to those times Kellen lined CeeDee up in the backfield but then it disappeared from the gameplan. I wonder now if that was really Mike's influence and Kellen just moved away from it.
All just conjecture at this point, but sure is fun to wonder.
