A lot of big schools were scared off my his academics and didn't trust that they'd be good enough, so they backed off. OK St. didn't.

Doesn't surprise me. My friend Eric Norwood(from S.Carolina, just went in the 4th round to Carolina Panthers) was heavily recruited by Ok St even though he had a 1.8 GPA in high school.

(Although he went on to be a scholar athlete in college)

OK state recruits a lot of guys with poorer gpa's.

It's how we stay competitive. Ok St isn't exactly known as a USC, OU, LSU, Miami, etc so we have to take people with problems.
