While I hate FPS on console, DIII is a game I could probably play on console. Of course, I have a console controller for my PC. (for when I used to play the PC version of Madden)

==========================================

A console version of the much-anticipated Diablo 3 has been rumored for quite some time, due in no small part to developer Blizzard admitting back in September that it was experimenting with a console version of the game. Now, according to a tweet from a Blizzard community manager, it looks like Diablo 3 on consoles is all but confirmed.

In response to an inquiry from a fan via Twitter, which asked simply "can you confirm or deny Diablo 3 coming to consoles?" community manager "Bashiok" responded "Yup. Josh Mosqueira is lead designer for the Diablo console project." More specific details have yet to be announced.

They basically confirmed it at Blizzcon, though with a qualifier that they wouldn't release it unless they felt they could deliver the same quality experience.

I could never play Diablo on a console, because it's synonymous with mouse play for me, and Diablo 3 is no exception. I've played it extensively(I'm in the beta), and I definitely couldn't see myself playing it on anything but my PC, but I'm glad that people who only use consoles are going to get the chance to play it.

Yeah, they definitely miss out not having a PC for Blizzard games.

Not surprised. I think they've got a gold mine with that new cash option auction house thingee. Why not get the consoleers to pay as well?

Question though: Is Diablo 3 still point and click to move, or do that have a WASD option?

In 3rd person, WASD would be terrible and painfully slow. Actually, even in 1st person it's terrible unless A & D are for strafing and you use the mouse to turn.

I always set AD to strafing. :) After a couple of days of playing point and click, my hand starts cramping. Nothing against those who find it superior; it's just if I can't use WASD, I am not buying it.

Which class seems the best to you, if you have played all of them yet.

I haven't played the beta, but I can already tell I'm going Witch Doctor for my first character.

I would like to hear what he has to say about the Monk though. Looking at all the videos and reading about them they sound boring as hell. :laugh2:

Kind of bummed that they don't have a Paladin..My hammerdin kicked butt.:D
The monk reminds me of the zealot paladin.

The witch doctor looks pretty fun...like a bit of a druid and necro.

I've got the Beta too but my laptop can't run it. I've got a new one coming in this week. If you're interested BP I can PM you a review. I played D2 more than I care to admit.

Sure...does not have to be anything elaborate but I was a big D2 fan and look forward to the new one although I doubt I pay to play online.

Wait a sec......Im pretty sure D3 isnt going to be pay to play online. You must be connected to the internet to play any game mode be it online or off.
I was aware of the cash shop using real money to buy/sell items but not a monthly fee ala WOW or Everquest.

Is this correct. If so...oh happy day. :D

I just remember you used to have to pay to play online with D2 so I did not do it for a long time...talk about being hard to beat the game with no special weapons or set armor. Then they went free so I played on there for a long time.

If it really is going to be free than I will be very happy. Don't know how long it will be before I get the game, I am not the type that has to have things when they first come out.

Granted it's been a few years since I played, but I never once paid to play D2 online.

I played all of them to 13(max in beta).

I like them in this order, though I will admit I am biased towards melee classes just due to my personal preference. In D2 I was a Paladin almost exclusively, though I played Barb as well.

Monk
Demon Hunter
Barbarian
Witch Doctor
Wizard

The Monk is the closest thing to a Paladin, and I especially love it because you can choose to take a resource spender ability that heals you and everybody near you, so you can basically play a healer, which helps since health pots are not spammable in this. The game plays with a slightly different pace than D2, in that enemies sometimes charge up and explode when they die or do AoE attacks you need to avoid to not take excess damage. Monk is the most versatile IMO because your builders/spenders can be single target, AoE, have knockbacks, heal, etc., and you have multiple auras that increase dodge, health regen, or make all enemies take more damage from you and your party.

Demon Hunter is just awesome. It's like a bowazon on roids. Great customization with the abilities, and the 2 resource system they have is very cool because you have your fast regenerating offensive pool for doing damage in a hurry, and you have your slower regenerating utility pool for abilities that make you leap away from enemies and stuff like that.

Barbarian is a lot like the Barb from d2, though you can also choose abilities that basically turn you into a defensive tank type which is cool if you're into that style of group play.

Witch Doctor is very awesome, and you can go summoning style, DoTs, and some other very neat tricks.

Wizard is one that I think is going to come into its own much better past 25 when you have all your abilities. Many of the abilities I want to try on it you don't get by level 13, so I couldn't get a feel for it the way I'd want to.

Also, you definitely don't have to pay to play D3 online. There is an actual auction house for trading items so you're not setting up trades via chat channels, forums, and what not, and you can buy and sell using in game gold or using real money.

People hate it, but it's basically just Blizzard acknowledging that that sort of economy would exist regardless, and doing it this way means less people getting their identities stolen doing real money transactions via shady websites with no backing.

Best Buys website shows it's release of Feb. 1st, right now.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Diablo+...8292463150&skuId=1800081&st=diablo &lp=2&cp=1

Does anyone ever play Diablo 1, or 2 anymore? I have 2 on my laptop, and used to play it every now and then, but lost my disc.

I did off an on for a few years. I went back in last month just to waste some time and realized I lost my high level Nec, Paladin and druid because it had been so long since I checked in.

Started to build another Necro but got tired of how bad the D2 stuff was getting on line.

As SOON as you created a game or went to a game you were automatically spammed from sites selling gear and there was also hardly anyone on to trade with anymore.

So I just gave up on it.
