This is specific to the beta only, though I would suspect that it will be the measuring stick for the actual game's requirements also. (at least it should change all that much)

I thought I might have to upgrade, but it looks like I'm still good to go.

I've got a E6600, 8GBs, and a Nvidia GTX460. The proc is right on the nose of the recommended. (dual core @ 2.4Ghz) I upgraded the memory from 4 to 8GBs and the video card last year.

I will probably buy a new MB, CPU, and memory around Christmas and swap them out.

Im not sure the invites have went out yet. You have to be a paying subscriber to WoW in order to MAYBE get an invite.
