Do we resign Grammatica longterm?
I think we do. He's the first guy that has consistently hit more than he missed for us.
Now if only he can learn to block...:banghead:

If long term is 2 years then yeah sign him.

definately sign him

that was a 50 yarder he nailed down the middle against Seattle wasn't it?

If only we signed him at the start of this year instead of 3/4 through it.. cause member we were just a kicker away from going 12-4 last year.

Er, well, wait....

I have the utmost confidence in Gramatica and it's been a long time since I could say that about a Cowboys kicker. It's funny, when we lined up for that fateful FG attempt on Saturday night, I had a feeling that something terrible could happen, but it wasn't Grammy that I was worried about. I couldn't put my finger on it, but now I know.

Same here. As they were lining up, I was getting flashbacks from Washington. I think that's just part of being a Cowboys fan these days though. You expect something horrible to happen to ruin it all.

It would be nice to have both MacBriar and Grammatica work on kickoffs over the offseason to see if we can consistently get it inside the 5. Whoever can handle it should be getting the majority of the looks in preseason.

I'd sign him. Like Boyz said, I have confidence he's going to make every kick. I really do. And I like what Parcells said about how well he practices and how serious he is about it.

I had flashbacks of Cortez missing for 30 last year in Seattle and, ironically, the Eagle game in 1997. Talk about a premonition of doom.

Still, I thought he will hit it and we are ahead. I had no doubt he would make the FG.

I'd definitely bring him back. Including the playoffs, he finished above the 80 percent mark, didn't he?

He had a shaky kick here and there, but by and large, he proved quite reliable. His long-distance kicking surprised me.

Also, it seemed like his kickoffs steadily improved.

No sense in losing the guy and having completely no clue of who will kick.

Keep him.

I would think he gives us the first option since he wasn't doing anything anyway when we called him. But then again money talks anymore.

He made 6 of 8, I believe, which isn't really a large enough sample to say he's consistent or not. However, I did notice that on almost every one of his field goals (especially the 2 or 3 50 yarders he kicked) he cleared the crossbar by plenty. He seems to have a lot of leg and I like the guy. I hope he is resigned and I think he will be.

He also wasn't bad on kickoffs. Most of his kickoffs seemd to get to around the 5 yard line or a little better.

Hell yeah!!!!!

Sign him for 3-5 years........This kid is good, he only missed twice i believe....keep him!!!
