Hi everyone,

I know this is a little off topic, but I really think you would have valuable input...

I'm about to move apartments, and I'm thinking of getting a dish so I can get the NFL Sunday Ticket.

I've never had a dish before, is the best way to get one just by calling DirectTV? I'm mainly interested in this for the NFL pass, HD channels, and internet.

I could use some advice, I like in Manhattan, and I just don't know if/how you can get the best deals on these things.

Sorry again if its off topic.
thanks

Call them but make sure your apartment faces South or a balcony facing South.

It's so expensive : $269 for the regular season. What about the post season ?
I just want to see Cowboys games, wish there is something cheaper. Sopcast can be slow in buffering.

All postseason games are on broadcast. Go to a sports bar for a couple of weeks.

The NFL never plays playoff games at the same time, so unless you are afraid that the Giant will be hosting the Cowboys without selling out all their tickets, then you should be able to see the game on your local station.

I actually dropped ST this year simply from the fact that by my count, the cowboys will be on nationally a min of 8 times.

Vlad, I got my dish through contacting DirecTV. I don't live in a city of size, though.

Unfortunately, I'm located in California. They seems to prefer to broadcast games from west coast teams like Raiders, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks, if they get in post seasons.

Sunday Ticket only carries regular season games. No preseason. No postseason.

All post season games are nationally broadcast. That's one thing the NFL does very well.

Start by calling DirecTV, not to order but inquiring about the price. Tell them the only reason you're interested is for the Sunday Ticket. When they give you the price, come back with "Wow, I didn't know it was that much, I was hoping it wouldn't be any higher than cable and with that added in it will be, I may have to think about it".

They'll usually drop 10 dollars a month or so off the bill.

Wait, I thought they were having that deal where you sign up now for their premier package, and you get four months free if you get Sunday Ticket?

...so basically since both the Ticket and the premier package are $69per month, you get the Ticket for free? Am i wrong? I was thinking about doing the same thing. My cable bill hovers between 125 and 160 a month, and I have minimal HD and no movie channels (i.e. HBO). It's getting old.
