He died at his home in Paris after suffering from illness. (didn't say what illness)

He directed movies like Empire Strikes Back and James Bond: Never Say Never Again.

He wasn't a really big time director, but he had did make a name for himself. So, with Leslie died and now Kershner, are we awaiting one more? Or does Kershner not count since he wasn't a really big time director? I would say he does.

He directed the best Star Wars movie. I'd count that as big time.

empire strikes back is my favorite star wars movie. may he rest in peace.

I completely agree. ESB is easily the best Star Wars movie. Odd isn't it. The best Star Wars movie was the second one. The best Star Trek movie was the second one also. (The Wrath of Khan)

Not only was Empire the best Star Wars, to this day, it sets the standard for movie sequels.

This brings to mind one of my favorite scenes in Clerks.

Randal Graves: Which did you like better? "Jedi" or "The Empire Strikes Back"?
Dante Hicks: "Empire".
Randal Graves: Blasphemy.
Dante Hicks: "Empire" had the better ending. I mean, Luke gets his hand cut off, finds out Vader's his father, Han gets frozen and taken away by Boba Fett. It ends on such a down note. I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings. All "Jedi" had was a bunch of Muppets.
