What do you Zoners think? Is the hit Chara put on Pacioretty just part of Hockey or do you think Chara intentionally smash him into the boards?

Its a penalty for sure. He hooked him and rode him into the boards like the announcer said but he's supposed to release him. I don't think he intentionally tried to hurt him as he rode him and his head into that spot on the boards.

It's part of the game.

Only in hockey.

What is that supposed to mean?

My though is this. He should be suspended for the rest of the season. You could clearly see intent when he guided him right into the side of the glass.

He should also get a warning that if anything like that happens again, he would be ban from the NHL for good. That type of garbage shouldn't be tolerated in any form in any sport.

What do you think it means?? It's not rocket science.

How many times have you seen the police get involved after a hard hit in a football game? The only other time I can think of something like this happening off the top of my head was with Todd Bertuzzi... that was in hockey too.

I don't know how you can say that you can clearly see the intent... what intent? To check the guy into the boards? OK. To make the guy hit the partition? Give me a break.

That seemed like a dirty hit to me. I highly doubt he wanted to make him exit on a stretcher though.
