Disrespecting the Star...

I cheered for Roy when he broke TO's ankle (even though I've never cheered for anyone getting hurt in a football game before....possibly McNabb last year).

That's better... I was starting to question whether or not you were a "true fan"... :D

While not being a TO fan and all those events pi**ing me off do you not think the only way he can make up for those is doing right by the Cowboys as a player?

That is a good point, and I have never thought of it like that. I guess that would bring balance back or something like that. I guess their are two main probs with TO for you guys. 1. The Star Incident 2. The chance that he might destroy your team for a season.

Personally I still feel the star thing would be enough for me not to accept him, but I guess in a way it is a chance for him to redeem himself. So I guess the only issue with TO is how he could negativily affect the team with his ego problem.

Well we give Joey T a hard time... it's all in good fun...

Although I have always thought he was the type whose own troops will kill him during wartime... :D

He was definitely arrogant, for a guy with average talent.
Best line in football, and a top RB, a top WR corps, a solid consistant D, he should have won some games.

All TO has to do to make up for his "disrespecting" the Star is... 1st TD he scores run out to the Star, kneel down and give it a big kiss. Bet that ends all the bad blood.

Not Jerry Jones or any single individual can tarnish the "star" or the history of the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have certainly had their share of good and bad history and have weathered storms before.

T.O. cannot bring down the Cowboys because he doesn't have that power unless we the fans and the team give it to him.

Excellent...

Funny thing is how many skins fans are upset over the star incident. why dont you skins just stat your real reason for not liking this move? This move puts your moves to waste. Cowboys have had a hell of a off season and you skins fans are soooo scared that the best you can hope for is to cause a ripple by bringing up the star incident. Lets see how ya feel after he dances on OL' Chief Slapaho then becomes a free agent in three years. Snyder will be all over it just like the skins were all over deion washed up *** after the boys got done with him.

Seems like many people forget this incident.

Although, I tend to agree with you guys. The fans will have the biggest problem with this. There are going to be a lot of emotions shared for that first game.

Boy, Roy is real concerned in that photo about him "disrespecting the Star".

http://www.texnews.com/1998/2000/cowboys/insult0925.html:eek::
How bad is it when someone pulls off the single greatest insult in the Cowboys' history, and he doesn't even get it? Or can the Cowboys be insulted any more?

Owens, in his sixth year, conceded that it was the craziest thing he's ever done on a football field. He said he didn't have any particular plans for when he got to the star either time, although he said the second was a reply to Smith's display.
“I can't afford the fine, though,” he said, smiling, “so I can't take my helmet off.”

Would you do it again?

“Definitely,” he said.

good thread... all MUCH worse offenders.

it's odd Cowboy fans are so annoyed by a meaningless "celebration" which would have been avoided if we played a little D. when a guy SCORES ON YOU OVER AND OVER sit down and take your medicine.

TO has beaten the Cowboys several times almost by himself.. that is no doubt the reason for the hate. If we won all those 49er/Eagal games we'd be laughing at him, not be worried about "respect" of some patch of grass.

agreed its water under the bridge already ya know i mean lets move on its not like he stomped on a picture of my family i mean im die hard but easy to see its only a "patch of grass" :star:
