Still haven't made it out to see this movie, but want to do so this weekend. Has anybody here seen it...is it worth the trip to the big screen?

It's also the only movie I've ever seen in theaters that I would pay again to see. Plan on going again soon.

Kill Whittie! I wont see the trash.

you have some bad misconceptions of this movie. It is full of clever and hilarious humor aimed in every direction (meaning to and from the black and white characters about both the slaves and slave owners.) It also does a great job of developing the the character of django as he goes from slavery to free black man and has to 'act like he belongs' as every black person he is around is still a slave.

I strongly urge you to reconsider seeing this movie as it is honestly one of the very best movies I have ever seen and I think has the possibility of becoming an all time great.

without giving too much away killing white people is not djangos main motivation, merely a small perk considering his plight and at some points shows that he has a second thoughts about taking life.

I thought it was excellent as well.

And I agree, there were some parts that were absolutely hilarious. Jonah Hill's part in the movie (or I guess I should say the main event in which he was present) was pure gold.

Cristoph Waltz was phenomenal. I saw the movie with some friends and one of them thought that his character was pretty much Landa from Inglorious *******s only in different attire. I can see the similarities but I won't hold it against Tarantino because the similarities are only present in the delivery of the dialog and I think the way in which Waltz delivers his lines adds to the character in Django. In fact, I could see it adding to any character because it's more cerebral and sly than anything and I'm not sure there's a role he could play where it wouldn't fit. I really thought he made Inglorious *******s what it was purely based on his dialog and delivery. I really like him as an actor and I hope he and Tarantino work together in the future.

I would also urge people not to write it off........for whatever reason you might have.

Oh great. Shadows of the old politics board surfacing to close down another OT thread. Seriously folks

The only thing I'll add is you HAVE to see this movie on the big screen. Watching it at home won't do it justice.

I'm gonna see it tomorrow. I've wanted to since it came out but things kept coming up. Unlike a lot of people, I thought Inglorious *******s was amazing. I think QT is getting better, not worse. And I love Dicaprio.
